Do you already have some experience with toprope climbing and would you like to clear the way to climb outside? Then this course is what you are looking for. The climbing certificate Indoor leadclimbing is an entry requirement for the Outdoor Single Pitch course, where you learn to climb independently. More about all courses within ESAC can be found here.
With leadclimbing, your ropeis not already secured at the top (as with toproping), but you raise it yourself during climbing. During the climb you regularly attach the rope to the wall, so that you never fall too far. Note: because you are sometimes standing above your last safety point, it is possible to fall a few meters. During the course you will learn how to handle this! Check this video for more clarity!
All techniques are taught to you in three evenings, so that you have a good chance to pass your exam on the fourth evening. An extra lesson and re-exam are scheduled immediately after the Christmas holiday.
Registration
There are 18 places for this course. You can register here until Friday evening 8 November. As there already are more applications than places, an admission moment will be held on Monday 11 November. If you want to participate in the course, keep this evening free. The admission time will take place in Neoliet Zuid.
