Friday the 20th of november was ESAC's committee drinks party! Here is the story of a great evening full of inspiration and beer:
It all started at 20:30. After some trouble connecting on Discord we got a little intro by Tijn. In it he explained everything that was going to happen! I'm not going to say that here because otherwise the tension of the story will be ruined.
After the introductory talk, representatives of the committees came in groups. They gave a short explanation of the committee, had a chat while enjoying a hoppy refreshment and in the process, they also gave some hints...
That was for the next part! The ESAC committee pub quiz! With exciting questions like "what does EPLAKKA stand for?" the memory of the participants was tested. It was a battle of the titans between 3 teams. My team was called the Fontainebros, but my memory is not good enough to remember the names of the other teams. After 2 nerve-racking rounds followed on the edge of my seat and also of my (FREE!) bottle of beer, ... (I still don't know his name) came back with the final results.
We came third, so also last. A pity of course, but it was not about winning, but about the journey there. And oh, how cool that journey was. I now know very well that there is a committee of former board members that criticises the board and that the youngest committee is the ECO. Unparalleled knowledge that will undoubtedly help me to ensure world peace.
All jokes aside, it was really fun! And I really enjoy getting to know the committees in such a relaxed and fun way. I really know what to expect when it comes to committees, and I must say that I am quite interested in joining one if it would suit my schedule. Really cool! Worth repeating.
