The barbecue!

In September it was time again. The new academic year had started again and although things were a bit different from normal, the AC had decided to make the best of it. Unfortunately the weather hadn't been so good for a couple of weeks, so a lot of outdoor activities couldn't be planned anymore. Summer was really over anyway, it seemed. Until suddenly, in the week of September 14^th, the weather changed and the summer temperatures came back for a short time. Not a few days after the good news was known, the AC was already on top of it. Soon the idea came forward to organize a barbecue after all. This was ideal, because not much longer ago Elise said her house was available for this purpose. All the way to far away Nuenen, there was a large house with a large garden and a swimming pool. The AC did not hesitate and organized a last minute barbecue at this great location on Wednesday the 16^th of september. “Bring your own food and drinks, we will take care of the barbecues and the baguettes”, it was stated in the group app. Although it was a last minute activity, there was a lot of enthusiasm for it and no less than 25 people came along, which was the maximum for the large garden to keep 1.5 meters distance.

The evening went well. Everyone brought their favorite drink and barbecue snack and here and there their swimming gear. There was a swimming pool for a reason! At 18:00 everyone slowly dripped in and the party meal (with 1.5 meters distance!) could begin. There was nice chatting, eating, drinking and laughing. The pool was also well used, but of course still with the measures in mind. Here and there the AC still had to play policeman, but the evening went well. As icing on the cake there was a volleyball tournament! Around 12 o'clock everyone was full and went home slowly.

In conclusion, despite all the circumstances, we made it another successful evening!
