Dear gala enthusiasts,
The gala is coming up very soon (9th of may) and we would like to offer you the chance to get ready to shine and dance the stars! The lustrum theme is midlife madness, and to accomodate to this madness we are organizing some dancing lessons on the following dates (18.00 - 19.00):
Jive: Latin ballroom focuses on a display of vibrant energy and a personal flair. The couple’s dancing pattern is syncopated to the rhythm of the music. The couple usually dances in one spot of the dance floor. In Latin American dances moving the hips is important to give the dances the right character.
English walts: Standard ballroom focuses on the elegance, grace and fluidity of movement. Dancers rotate in a counter-clockwise direction, moving around the entire floor. The couple is constantly moving on the dance floor, transitioning from one place to the next in a fixed pattern.
These lessons are organized in collaboration with Footloose, and will take place at the campus (location t.b.d.). For an impression of the dances, make sure to click on the dances for an impression of what they look like. Furthermore, as these are partner dances, it is nice to sign up together with a friend (or your gala date). If you don't have a partner , there is a group chat where you can look for one, you can join this in the form.
The costs per dance are 8 eu, so you can sign up for Jive (8 EU), English Walts (8 eu) or both (16 EU).
--> If you cannot make it to both lessons of for example Jive, you can still sign up but make sure to add in the comment of the form which lesson you will join. This does not change the price of the dance.
