ESAC Basiskamp Idee

From 20 Jul 15:00 to 28 Jul 10:00

General information

Dear Climbers,

This year too, the ESAC will leave for the Alps as a climbing collective. There we will settle in Ailefroide, Les Ecrins, France. This is where the 2019 EBI takes place. In the beautiful Ailefroide, the EBI will start on July 20 until July 28.

- What is the EBI?

The ESAC Base Camp Idea (EBI) is a place where ESAC people gather in the summer to go climbing, hiking, sunbathing, etc ... Nothing more and nothing less. Furthermore, it is also closed with an impressive barbecue (also vega!).

There is no guidance available and members are therefore dependent on their own skills. That is why it is wise to make plans in advance! This will soon be possible during the pre-EBI barbecue and the tour planning evening (15 May Wednesday evening).

- What can I do there?

In Ailefroide there is for everyone something to do, it is the second mountaineering area in France, after Chamonix! It is surrounded by 500m high granite walls where great can be pitched. With of course all kinds of high Alpine peaks behind, the center of Les Ecrins. Of course there is also plenty to do for the Single pitcher with 13 areas with around 250 single pitch routes. And perhaps a bit strange in the Alps, but there are also plenty of cool boulders around the campsite!

In addition to all these climbing activities, there are plenty of fun things to do on the days of rest such as mountain biking, hiking and table tennis.

- Where can I sleep then?

In Ailefroide we have our own place on the only real campsite there. The exact location on the campsite itself, the pitch, will follow. http://www.ailefroide.fr/camping/

- How much does that cost me?

The costs are € 7,30,- per night per person. No more no less, the registration must therefore be done individually at the campsite.

- Do I have to register?

Registration is not mandatory but handy, then the EBI committee can better prepare for the barbecue and the pitches for the tents. This can be done via the following form.
